The Palmisano family, owners of the namesake confectioner' s shop, have been preserving and producing for many years the original "Bussolà" from Burano according to the original recipe. A simple and genuine cake, made with eggs, flour and a lot of good butter, enriched by the particular working process. By tradition the "bussolà" was a typical Easter cake, it was kneaded at home by the women of the island that brought it at the baker's to bake it. In the island everyone could smell the fragrance of sugar and vanilla. When the cake was wrapped up and kept in the sideboard it still exhaled its typical fragrance and it was appreciated during the feast days dipped in the "vin santó" (holy wine) or in the local white wines. As a Easter cake the "bussolà" has become a dainty suitable for every moment of the year and for every occasion: refined and dessert, as a rich breakfast or for a sweet break maintaining the original characteristics, fragrance and flavour.

Refined and imitated the "bussolà" has become, as well as the island typical laces, the symbol of the beautiful lagoon island. The enthusiasm for the confectionery art and the continuous evolution of the tradition has allowed to cav. Luigi Palmisano and his son Francesco, creative confectioners to enrich their production of Venetian cakes reinventing and rediscovering in flavour and shape the products of the Venetian confectionery history. As well as "Palmisano" products, we produce on behalf of a third party.
