CAVALLINO-TREPORTI, A LARGE NATURE RESERVE BETWEEN THE SEA AND THE LAGOON

The Cavallino-Treporti area, which is surrounded by water, has developed a unique natural environment, some of which is still uncontaminated and has a variety of landscapes: from the beach to the sandbanks, from fish farms to kitchen gardens and from historic hamlets to urban centres. It is no coincidence that it is called Parco Turistico- a Tourism Reserve, as Cavallino - Treporti is a vast nature reserve suspended between the sea and the lagoon. Its 15 kilometres of land form a special environment that has a perfect balance between high level tourism services and unconditional respect for the environment, given the unique nature of this area.

Cavallino-Treporti is a place of unrivalled beauty, where particular types of flora and fauna thrive in different habitats. This is why nature is the area’s strong point, offering you the change to spend an enjoyable holiday amidst unforgettable colours, scents and flavours. As a result of its unique natural environment, since the 1950s Cavallino-Treporti has developed open-air tourism which, year after year, has grown to become the most important in Europe, with over 30 top-quality, avant-garde campsites.

Once again thanks to nature this part of the Venice coastline stands out for its strongly agricultural vocation, aided by clement weather conditions and the physical and morphological features of the area. This goes hand in hand with the high level of professionalism of its farmers, who are always open to new technology, while remaining linked to tradition. Cavallino-Treporti is the only local municipality to have made large-scale investments in greenhouse cultivation, an innovation that characterises the area for the unique and typical nature of its vegetables, which are considered excellent quality.

It is a clean, pure and unspoilt environment, with large expanses of greenery and this is why it offers an alternative to a beach holiday, with visits not only to the inland area, but also to the pine forests that border the beach, to the lagoon that marks the division with the sea and to its local farms, which are among the most modern in Italy.
