“CARNIVAL PARADE”:THE CAVALLINO-TREPORTI SUMMER CARNIVAL
Confetti, streamers, Brazilian dancers and street artists. A great Carnival Parade with a special feature that makes it unique: it takes place in the middle of Summer. This is the “Carnival Parade”, a special parade of allegorical floats that has become one of the most eagerly awaited events by tourists who flock to the coastline, as well as being loved by residents of Cavallino-Treporti. It is such a great success that in 2011 the organisers doubled the number of parades. The event usually takes place between the end of July and the beginning of August, in addition to the more traditional event planned for Winter.
The night time parade is made up of allegorical floats skilfully put together by many groups of
volunteers and fans on the coastline, including “Giovani Cavallino Treporti”, “Lio Piccolo-Mesole”, “Faro Piave”, “Punta Sabbioni”, “Area 51”, “Arcobaleno”, “Ca’ Savio Centro” and “Ca’ Pasquali”. It is a party for everyone – children and adults, residents and visitors – which will be enhanced by a lively procession of fire-eaters, jugglers and trampolinists.
“Carnival Parade” is an event organised by the “Tradizionando” group, created in 2000 by a group of friends with a shared passion for Carnival who wanted to bring the tradition of Carnival (which in the past was extremely strong) back to Cavallino-Treporti. The project grew over the years and today the event is also the result of the partnership between “Tradizionando”, the local tourist board, campsites and businesses, with the support of the Parco Turistico, the Tourist Board, the Municipality and the Province.
