“The Vegetable Farms” Route (length 32.3 km)
A breathtaking itinerary, from piazza Santa Maria Elisabetta in Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni. This route runs along the entire coastline, allowing you to appreciate the extraordinary features of the Cavallino-Treporti peninsula. It is a landscape of transition from the Adriatic Sea to the Venice Lagoon, studded with kitchen gardens and fields where skilled local people have respected nature to develop agriculture, specialising in the production of vegetables and other excellent produce famous throughout Europe. The route allows you to visit these local farms, which are signposted.
“The Fortifications” Route (length 17.7 km)
The itinerary, which begins on Ca’ Savio beach, allows you to discover the system of coastal fortifications along the Cavallino-Treporti coastline that defended Venice during the Austrian domination and the two world wars. Through a magnificent green landscape and with a little spirit for adventure, you can visit the Amalfi, Vettor Pisani and San Marco Batteries, the Treporti Fort and the Mandracio and Ca’ Pasquali Barracks.
“The Sunset” Route (length 23.5 km)
This starts in Punta Sabbioni and arrives at the heart of the Northern Lagoon. It is a route that is suitable for everyone, in that it is entirely asphalted and allows you to discover some of the most important historical relics of the Lagoon, visiting the oldest hamlets on the coastline like Treporti, Le Mesole and Lio Piccolo. We suggest you cycle it in the evening, when you can enjoy the breathtak-ing fiery sunset over the Venice Lagoon.
