Where tradition meets innovation
Every season, the lights and colours of celebrations and amusements bring the Cavallino-Treporti area to life, as an attachment to local customs goes hand-in-hand with the attractions typical of any international seaside resort.
The Christmas festivities bring concerts, performances, markets, the living nativity and come to a close with the Beroloni, the large, festive bonfires that re-evoke ancient peasant rituals. In the same period, the Venice Carnival comes to the area with a procession of floats created with passion and flair by the Municipality’s various districts. Spring makes its entrance with the Asparagus Festival on 1st May, promoting the best known of our typical local products. June’s Rowing Palio heralds the arrival of summer with a thrilling, exciting regatta along the Pordelio canal: in this splendid setting, the twelve districts of Cavallino-Treporti compete in a rowing race before thousands of spectators.
Throughout the summer, the various districts organise local festivals: music, dancing and gastronomy stands serving local specialities bring together the local community and visitors the fun way as they discover the different areas of our territory.
In August, a stunning sequence of brightly coloured flashes lights up the entire length of the beach, from Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni lighthouses, as thousands of fireworks are launched simultaneously from fifteen different points, making Beach on Fire one of the largest displays of its kind ever.
Not to mention musical evenings, cabaret shows, drama, open-air films, fun fairs and Cavallino-Treporti’s weekly and evening markets ... the fun just goes on and on.
