The policy
THE VENETO ENVIRONMENT QUALITY MANIFESTO 2000 SETS FORTH AN ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY IN WHICH IT EXPRESSES THE ENVIRONMENTAL PRINCIPLES AND COMMITMENTS IT INTENDS TO PURSUE. THIS POLICY HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED AND APPLIED AND IS INSPIRED BY THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES:
hospitality businesses implementing the Cavallino Environment Quality Manifesto, which plays an active part in protecting the environment as a primary resource for performing outdoor tourism, undertake:
to preserve the territory’s natural and cultural identity; • to improve the environmental quality of the services offered to guests; • to achieve ISO 140001 certification of the business by 2005; • to diffuse the principles of its action throughout the territory, by promoting related initiatives and economic, training or cultural partnerships with other organisations such as companies, public or private bodies, institutions and administrations • to provide environmental staff training and coaching • to sensitise guests as regards environmental protection.
The guest sensitisation programme includes the following points:
sensitisation on environmental issues; local wildlife aspects; respectful behaviour of objects and people in places to visit outside the facility; observance of rules and objectives regarding waste management, use of detergents, energy-saving and correct use of water. sensitisation as regards the use of public transport; Firms implementing the Cavallino Environment Quality Manifesto 2000 provide guests with surveys in order to discover their opinion of the Environmental Manifesto, their level of participation and any suggestions they have.
